President and CEOFueled by her passion for helping clients address their concerns and fears around money and how it impacts their families, Helen Stephens, CFP®, EA, CEPA, founded Aspen Wealth Management in 2011. Her leadership is driven by more than 25 years of experience specializing in retirement and tax planning for those nearing and transitioning into retirement.
Helen is a frequent speaker on the subject of women and money and has taught Financial Understanding for Women through the Extended Education department at Texas Christian University (TCU). She is a graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a bachelor’s degree in finance. As a thought leader in the field of retirement and tax planning, she is regularly quoted in publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Oprah Magazine, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Helen proudly served on the board of Habitat for Humanity for six years, culminating with a stint as the President of the Board, and she continues to be a committed volunteer for the organization. Her community volunteerism also extends to projects at Christ Chapel Bible Church, where she is an active member.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helen and her husband John live in Fort Worth. She enjoys spending quality time with her three adult children, Hannah, Amanda, and Jack, as well as time outdoors gardening, hiking, and traveling to new places to take in the sights and meet interesting people.
